Next Submission Period
Don't send anything early, I just end up automatically deleting it.
If you would like to be an author at this site, our next submission period is June 1 through June 15, 2008.
To be considered to be an author/artist you should do the following between June 1 and June 15:
1) You may submit an item for consideration. This item should display your work at its very best and be in keeping with our submission requirements (click the buttom at the bottom of the page to view those). If you wish to provide a link to other items that is fine as well. Also you may supply both fic and art for consideration.
2) Make sure your fics have good grammar, good spelling, and are reasonably in character. Fics with no summary, poor spelling, and failure to know the difference between lose/loose, their/there, its/it's (among other things), and Edward saying something like, “Bella, baby doll, let’s par-tay!” will most likely be rejected outright.
3) Make sure your art isn’t on a napkin or torn notebook paper. It should be the quality of what could hang on the wall in school.
4) You should send me your submission via email (pelirroja_ljc@yahoo.com) either a link to your work on another site like fanfiction.net or deviantart.com or a word doc, pdf, rtf, jpg, png, gif, bmp. I don't have the latest edition of Word so I can't open a docx. I can’t open any other type of file. No, you may not just paste it into the body of the email. CAREFUL IF YOU ARE LINKING TO FANFICTION.NET! Don’t link to your login, link the actual story.
Your email submission should have the words Prospective Author or Prospective Artist” in the subject line. The following information should be in the body of the email:
Author name if selected:
Title of submitted story/art:
Summary of your story/media used for art:
5) Your items must (no exceptions) comply with our regular posting rules found here http://www.ramblingsandthoughts.com/twilight/submission.php
6) Given above rule number 5, I feel stupid saying this, but seeing as I standardly get "Edward Turns Bella Into a Vampire", "Edward and Bella's Wedding Day", "Bella and Jacob have a heart to heart talk after he gets her invitation".... WE DON'T TAKE AU's FROM PROSPECTIVE AUTHORS.
7) On or about June 30, 2008 I’ll announce which new authors/artists are invited to have an account.
8) If you were not given an account in a previous entry period you are invited to try again.

I'm putting up the list again because some sore loser who obviously didn't get selected decided to spam the board. The fact that she posted 1900 SPAM messages says a lot more about her mental stability and maturity than it does anything else. Clearly I made the the right decision in not giving someone that petty and childish an account here.
Here is the lovely e-mail exchange we had after she realized that I deleted her 1900+ comments on the front page of this site.
Dear Amy,
Clearly you need mental help.
You spammed the front page of the fanfic site with 1900+ messages to state your opinion filled with cursing. Not only do you you need mental help, but I'd additionally suggest getting a life. Immature temper tantrums are unattractive, not to mention that they live up to the stereotype of women being petty, irrational, and unable to handle criticism. Clearly your little diatribe says so much more about you than it does me. Obviously I made the right decision in not selecting whatever you sent in as I can only imagine your reaction to a less than glowing review.
Having been fortunate enough to live in a country and time where women are educated makes me feel privileged. Being able to have a variety of books to choose from makes me feel privileged. I am fortunate enough to live in a world where I can choose from the graphic novels of Joss Whendon to acclaimed non fiction by Marianne Pearl. I enjoy those genres and more.
I make no bones about it. I am 41 years old and the proud mother of one. I have the battle scars to prove it. I am damn proud of every line, sag, wrinkle and stretch mark because I earned every one doing the most important thing in life that I will ever do which is have a child and raise him to be a caring, giving, and well-mannered individual who thinks of others first.
I am also proud to be privileged to know Stephenie Meyer. I am also equally proud to know Lori Joffs (incidentally her name is spelled Lori and not Laurie), Tara Brown, Amy Foxman, John Hamilton, Steve Sandowsky and many other people who have enriched my life over the years. They aren't "big names" but they are no less important to me, in fact I know them better.
I must have missed the memo where the Twilight Lexicon was solely responsible for Stephenie Meyer's success. Clearly the PR department at Little Brown did nothing. Last I checked we have about 13,000 members on the Lexicon and Stephenie has sold 4 million books in the USA alone. So, unless our member bought 307 books each, her success has a lot to do with factors that we know nothing about.
Not that I have to explain myself to you, but I accepted people who submitted more than a nine line poem. They submitted more than that or they would not have been accepted, they just haven't gotten around to posting it up yet.
So honestly, get the help you need, and while you are at it get a life.

It's funny you know, an old woman like you reading a teen book like twilight. Why do you like it so much, does it make you feel young again, help you to ignore the middle age spread and wrinkles? (I've seen you on myspace). I was just wondering.
Anyway. My main question is why were some of the stories you accepted of such a low quality? You accepted a NINE LINE poem for christ's sake, over 300 others!
Also, why do you like, keep sucking up to Meyer? It's truely disgusting- you've even added her as your top friend on myspace! Does it make you feel special, being the chief advertiser for her books? Because they are only popular because you and Laurie advertised them so heavily over the net. I suppose Meyer was happy, using a drooling slave such as yourself to get free work out of you. And you were only too happy, weren't you? It was the only thing in life that made you feel special...I suppose you wet yourself in excitement at the prospect of going out to lunch with her....
Anyway, enjoy runing your site :)

Another exchange, I have to say poking the troll has broken up an otherwise boring day at work.
LOL, could you be more pathetic little girl? 1900+ posts, and still emailing me, and you think you hit a nerve with me. I've seen stalkers less obsessed, talk about irony.
No, I didn't type a "seperate" one because I wanted everyone to see you for what you are. What's the matter? You're not proud of your e-mail? Believe me, no one cares what you think other than to point and laugh.

You even felt the need to post my email on your site. Clearly you could not be bothered to type a seperate one...
I bet you'll put this one up too.
Not to mention how sad it is that you spent that long emailing me...I guess I must have touched a nerve. So sorry. Might I suggest wrinkle creams? They're VERY good these days.
YAWN....another one and a new name. Man I feel sorry that Crystal Water, whoever she is, has a nut job like this in her fandom. Hope she has good bodyguards, I can only imagine if this chick is this obsessed with me, she must be surgically attached to poor Ms. Water's backside.
Torin Faleira"
Clearly you continue to mistake me for someone who cares about you.

Little girl...you don't even know how old I am.
And I am not stalking you. I just want to send hate mail because you are Stephenie Meyer's slave. And I am VERY proud of the email I sent. I get a lot of sick pleasure from seeing it displayed up there. I know a lot of Crystal Water fans who will agree with me. They are going to have FITS when they see it...
Yes boys and girls, these are the joys that await you if you start a website....
By all means, if you think you have a "Cassie Edwards" smoking gun alert the media. Hell I'll even help Nora Roberts lead the charge! As for Crystal, who is she? Whatever she wrote doesn't come up on the first page on any bookseller's page on a search.

I know you don't care about me. But you care about your website, I know that much. So I wonder what all your members will think when they find out Twilight is just a great big copy.

We think we solved the "Into the Crystal Water" mystery. Thanks to Cocoa's searching we found the following on author William Nicholson's blog in the Q&A section.
Question submitted by: Lily on 22/09/2007
Hi, I am 15 and I have started writing/planning a book called 'Into the Crystal Water', and I have done the first draft of my prologue. I was wondering if it would be possible to email it to you to see where I could improve, as my only critic at the moment is my mum! So it would be great to get some professional advice. If not, could you recommend where I could get some advice?
William Nicholson responded:
Sadly I have to discourage people sending me their work in progress, because I would end up doing nothing but reading other people's writing. Your best bet is to show it to someone you know whose judgement you respect - a teacher, maybe, or a friend of your parents. People don't need to be experts to give useful criticism - after all, you hope that ordinary readers will enjoy what you write. Good luck with it.
So, I'm thinking I called it right the first time, all this boils down to is a temper tantrum by someone whose fic didn't get accepted.
